For your (and our) convenience, we've provided a quick form for applicants to the BADHouse! We have two rooms opening up, available May 1, 2017.
These rooms are part of a 9-person co-op close to the T in the Central Square area that includes a chef, students, a professor, people who work in labs, and a psychologist. We have a communal vegetarian food system (shared groceries and flexible communal meals), a roof deck & container garden, monthly meetings, a chore system, a projector, and a guest room. In addition to meetings and meals, we spend a lot of unstructured time together, too. It’s important that housemates actually be into the joys and responsibilities of communal
living. More info on rest of site.
AVAILABLE ROOM & RENT:
The below prices don't take into account utilities or shared food (we buy 98% of our groceries communally), which total about $250-300 a month on top of rent. We are also willing to be flexible and pro-rate rent for move-in dates later in the month.
Smaller room: This second floor room is one of the smaller rooms in the house, at 81 square feet. The rent for this room is $417/month. It gets a lot of sunlight during the day. There is no closet in this room, but we have plenty of storage space in other parts of the house, including a large basement.
Larger room: This is a large sunny room (184 square feet) on the second floor, with bay windows. There is no closet, but plenty of room for furniture and hanging clothes.
Also important: we are interested in meeting with a diverse range of people, "diversity" including but not limited to categories of: race/ethnicity, sexuality, gender (expression), class, ability (though we do have stairs, unfortunately!), religion, age, and occupation. In terms of values, we all care about that loose cluster of social justice and sustainability issues that a lot of people into the idea of co-ops probably share. We make decisions by consensus. We want the house to be a safe space for all residents. Housemates don't have to be vegetarian, but veg food is the only kind we buy and prepare communally.
